Asamaru Live Review
Last night, Asamaru performed at Peace Grass in Yokohama. He played a 30 minute set with two other musicians. One was playing the acoustic guitar while the other was playing Taiko drums. Asamaru often performs in front of a backdrop of various types of musicians and bands. This one was noticeably different from his more recent performances. The vibe was laid back, and the tempo was considerably slower. Listening to his HearJapan exclusive album and going to his live performances are a completely different experience. The album is very fast paced dancehall music. The concert was extremely chill and all songs were slowed down considerably. He played many songs from his album for the 30 minute set. Songs included, “ASSAS Thug Life”, “MUSIC LIFE”, “Bgata no Onna” as well as others. Taking the occasional break to sip on his beer, Asamaru delivered a very chilled out vibe and shows his ability to adapt to atmosphere of each event.
