Curly Giraffe With J-pop Stars

Yokohama, Japan – October 13, 2009 – HearJapan is excited to say “thank you” to all of our friends with a new release from Curly Giraffe. Thank You For Being A Friend is the new sun-soaked release from Kiyoshi Takakuwa, the man behind the Curly Giraffe name. After his time in bands like Rotten Hats and GREAT 3, Takakuwa went solo. Singing entirely in English, Takakuwa crafts songs that are mellow and easy going, positive and catchy.

The album is something of a self-cover album. On Thank You For Being A Friend Takakuwa has teamed up with his own group of friends, who also happen to be A-list singers. Vocalists like Akino Arai, Cocco, KAELA KIMURA, BONNIE PINK, Chara, LOVE PSYCHEDELICO, Yuko Ando, and Keiko Hiraoka all contribute new, and most notably female, interpretations of Curly Giraffe’s past releases.

Still sung entirely in English, Thank You For Being A Friend is the perfect introduction to the work of Curly Giraffe, more of which is also available at HearJapan. These songs are all in the same mellow, acoustic vein that fans have come to love.
