We are 4th Skin Arts Network. We are a young international arts network based in Japan and we organize arts event, mixing different forms of international art. Last year we held the Corpi Altri festival in Tokyo. It was a week long dance festival where Italian dancers and Japanese dancers presented their works together and collaborated at various arts venues around Tokyo. The year before we took Japanese dancers on the Katachi wo Koete tour of Italy, premiering Japanese dancers at Italian dance festivals.
This year we are doing something different. We are holding Body Lounge at Superdeluxe, Roppongi on 08/08/08. Body Lounge is a multidisciplinary event combining contemporary music with contemporary art. We will be showcasing young and up and coming multidisciplinary artists together. The concept of Body Lounge is change the space within which artists perform and the way the audience views performing arts. Body Lounge will be a lounge, bedecked with a comfy seating plan, cosy lighting, rugs and props to recreate the comforts of home in a distinctly retro fashion, making the audience feel as at home and comfortable as possible. Viewers will be able to watch contemporary international art on TVs which will be situated all around the venue whilst listening/dancing to some exciting new electronic and new wave musicians. This is a new and unique event which will give the audience an opportunity to experience art in a different manner, allowing them to see
and view artists that wouldn’t conventionally be together in a unique space. The event will also feature the premieres of the video work by the U.K. based video art group Esdale Video art and the photography work by the U.S. artist Heather Gray.
