Live Report from Kichijoji Crescendo

Blasdead recently performed at the famous metal live house in Kichijoji, Crescendo. Despite it starting at an early time and being on a Sunday, there were many metal heads lined up and there was a lot of energy in the air. Throughout numerous member changes over 12 years, BLASDEAD retains a sort of performance skill that can only be garnered over time. Call it metal playing wisdom if you will, but these guys really know how to put on a show. They played succinctly and were in marching step with each other. Often with bands who have a long history to them, the audience tends to be an older age. However some of the fans who came to see BLASDEAD were older, but most were very young. This could possibly reflect on their outstanding performance and their kick ass music.

One of the original members of the band, the guitarist Anno’s fast picking technique was truly amazing, especially each song’s guitar solo. Whenever he played a solo the entire audience was really enthralled. You could tell just by watching him that he was a true veteran. The vocalist Isaki had a particularly high toned singing style that was piercing. The support member who was playing at tonight’s show, bassist Itabashi was quite the showman. Overall they played a brilliant show that overflowed with pure skill. If you are ever in Japan and want to see some real metal by true masters, check out Blasdead!
