Memorial Concert

Versailles had a memorial concert for Jasmine You tonight with Matenro Opera and Kaya. A large picture of Jasmine You was above the stage adorned with roses and two spotlights illuminated him. The band opened with a dramatic opening followed by Ascendead Master. They played without a bassist on stage. The second song ended and the vocalist said how he wanted everyone to have a good time tonight despite what happened. He urged the audience to channel their energy into them. He later talked about his new years with “You-kun” last year and his worries about their new song. Jasmine made him promise to see things through to see the light. Another instance recalled was when he made him promise to always look after the fans for a brighter future. These two discussions were made prior to the recording of Prince which was played after these stories were told.

Later in the show he remarked how we have dreams when we sleep, dreams for the future among many other dreams. At a core level these are all different kinds of dreams. After Jasmine passed away he asked himself why do we even bother dreaming? After the encore finished he looked up at You-kun and reassured him that the band and fans were safe. He asked that You-kun take it slow and finished with “oyasumi”. At the very end they held hands commenting on how it felt a little lonely and bowed to the audience.
