HearJapan Releases Former Fantastic Plastic Machine Musician Toshiyuki Yasuda
Tokyo, JP-May 17, 2009- HearJapan (www.hearjapan.com) is pleased to
announce the release of albums of the innovative
songwriter/composer/producer Toshiyuki Yasuda.
Toshiyuki Yasuda’s sound, although quite varied from collaboration to
collaboration, is best described as robot-voiced electronic brazillian
bossa nova lounge music. He has also composed music for television
advertising and film.
Yasuda rose to fame with his contribution to the 1997 self-titled
debut album by Fantastic Plastic Machine (best known for their recent
work with Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami) and has, since going
solo, produced/written songs and/or performed with such luminaries as
Pizzicato Five, Towa Tei, Mika Nakashima, Bonnie Pink, and many
others.
HearJapan first released Yasuda’s music as part of a compilation on
the Ryoondo-tea label to much success.
“Ryoondo-tea label is the definitive minimal electronic music label in Japan,
and ever since Yasuda’s tracks were heard on that Ryoondo compilation,
interest in him as a solo artist has exploded”, says HearJapan
founder, Nathan Reaven, “I was thrilled that Yasuda contacted us about
releasing more of his fascinating music.”
HearJapan has also signed Yasuda’s record company Megadolly and will
continue to supply the world with his unique brand of electronic music
for years to come.
Individual tracks are priced at 150 yen each (about $1.50 US), full
albums are discounted.
