Where does Tokyo’s international community go for great live music?

And how do Japanese musicians reach a foreign audience without going abroad?

To simultaneously answer these questions, Music Editor Dan Grunebaum and Metropolis present a series of nights shining a light on the astounding music to be found in Tokyo.

In April, Saiko vol. 3 “Rock Chick” celebrated Japanese women rockers in an evening of the heavy and the arty at Roppongi club SuperDeluxe.

Now from the crossroads of black music and the Asian metropolis comes Saiko vol. 4 “Mecha Groove” – a soundtrack to summer nights in the city, with urban rhythms from J-soul to jazz-funk, broken beats to trip-hop. The event will be held on July 17th.
