"CASSETABLE" is the 8th, that's right, 8th album since HONDALADY formed back in 1996. This new endeavor fuses Acid House with 70s era bedroom folk lyrics to create an impact rarely seen before.
HONDALADY's last album was produced by Japanese House music big-shot, Soichi Terada. However, this time around, they're back to their DIY roots, totally self-producing in their own homes. With a very Hip Hop style no-nonsense attitude, "CASSETABLE" is a testament to musical self-determination, which has become more and more a rarity in the current music climate.
The title is a portmanteau, combining 'cassette' and 'able', with the intended meaning of "being swappable/exchangeable." And 'cassette' is in reference to Famicon (NES for us in North America) cartridges, to further express the Electronica-ness of this album.
"CASSETABLE" is right in line with the combination of Techno, House, Electroclash, Punk sounds. This album is great fun for anyone who enjoys dancing the nights away in Tokyo clubs.
