BIO-DATA ANGELA FLAME Singapore’s very own doyenne of Dance, Angela Flame’s foray into electronic music began with the explosion of techno in the mid 90s, where she was known for getting revellers hot and sweaty whenever she helmed the decks. From way back when, she cut her teeth at legendary local techno clubs like Area 22 and Liquid Room, and her unforgettable “Sessions” nights at the dance Mecca itself, Zouk, still gets talked about in revered tones. But it was her momentous move to Berlin at the turn of the millennium that really got her noticed. Angela’s career hit stratospheric heights when she played alongside the world’s biggest DJs at the renowned Tresor club, the massive Awakenings Festival in Amsterdam, which lead to numerous gigs around UK, Europe and Asia. Her current sound has now developed into an eclectic groove that blends funky electro bleeps with rousing tech-house beats. Scintillating and captivating, Angela’s sets are enticing as they are emotive. But with the subtlety of a hurricane she can take the dance floor into orbit with just a deft turn of the knobs.
