D'espairsRay is a driving force in the worldwide Visual-kei phenomenon. This visually and sonically exciting band formed on September 9, 1999 and were going strong on their own until 2003 when they signed up with Sweet Child, the record label run by visual-kei luminaries Luna Sea. A year of making waves on Sweet Child brought them to their ground-breaking major-label debut on Universal Music. Each single and album sees their popularity grow, evidenced by their single "Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana" hitting #1 on the indie charts in Japan!

But a #1 hit in Japan is just the beginning for this international sensation. D'espairsRay's 34-city stint on the "Taste of Chaos Tour 2008" in America, plus a separate 15-date European tour saw their non-Japanese fans come out in droves to see this electrifying band in action. On the CD sales front, their latest album, Mirror sold a cool 50,000 albums between America and Europe alone!
