Tokyo, Summer of 2006...Underneath the blacktop echoed the sound of an endless loop.
In the underground world where urban music ruled, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was put on the turntable
by a DJ who seemed totally out of place.
Looking down on the familiar floor from the DJ booth, he spotted a girl in the crowd.
He knows that consciousness shows in the music and fashion.
A long black skirt, seemingly out of place with summertime and urban music, didn't blend in with the crowd at all.
The expression on her face, barely seen in the dark, seemed somehow sad.
He spun Nirvana just for her - it was his heart of gold.
Her eyes didn’t show, but there was a hint of smile on her lips.
She said to him that she wanted to sing
to express her emotion. He wrote lyrics, and then songs, picking up every single word she used.
Form is always put to the test, but he simply and purely wrote songs.
As a child when she was hurt, she created an “older sister”
This sister was someone sweet to talk to, anytime she wanted.
She was always there for her.
She had a brother who was two years older than her.
This brother, aspiring to becoming a race driver, was most understanding to her.
Recording got underway a little by little, and her brother was eagerly awaiting for its completion.
This brotherly love made her sister no longer necessary for her.
During the recording of the first album, her brother lost his life pursuing his dream.
The feelings that she wants to sing out, the loneliness and the need for an older sister, and the loss of her brother.
These things have not been expressed through words – as of yet.
She inscribed her brother’s name on her own body, singing, and thinking of his short lived life.
He too looked back on his own musical roots and pictured this in his mind.
Pulled the needle from his turntable and picked up a guitar, the two completed their first album. In 2008 the band has toured relentlessly in Japan with highlights at the Hide Memorial Summit and at Otakon 2008 in Baltimore, USA.
