nhhmbase gets new base?

nhhmbase is from the new generation of Japanese indies rockers standing out for their unique style. The band started playing in the Shibuya area of Tokyo since 2004. Comparatively, they are vigorous in their attitude towards music and the scene as a whole. You will always see the band hanging out long after their concert has ended. Their friendly demeanor makes them easily approachable. Despite their everyday Joe vibe, their music is anything but normal. Their composition methodology is quite interesting. The first step is to create an unbelievably tight poppy tune. The final step is deconstructing this polished poppy tune into anything but pop. It is said that when witnessing nhhmbase express themsleves it is akin to being lured into nirvana.

In 2006 nhhmbase released their self-titled debut album. The album is filled with irregular tempos and augmented melodies and is catchy as hell. Listeners of their first album will encounter numerous sudden changes in rhythm. Along with bands like group_inou, Tokumaru Shugo, OGRE YOU ASSHOLE, and 54-71, they are creating the new underground scene in Japan. The band is respected and adorned by some of the best bands around like Tokyo JIhen, Deerhoof, BATTLES, Base Ball Bear, 9mm Parabellum Bullet and more. Praise has been heaped on them by the Japanese music press as well. They were featured in the magazine "Studio Voice" as one of the top 40 bands carrying on the legacy of rock. They were also featured for 3 weeks as one of the most game-changing bands of the new generation of rockers by Juice TV. For their second album, they recruited none other than the leader of 54-71 and Yoshioka Toshikazu to lead the production of the album. They ended up taking the band captive for one week in the studio to hammer out a killer album.
