
Toshiyuki Yasuda is a Japanese musician, composer, arranger, and producer of electronic music. He sings Brazilian music as a robot known as 'ROBO*BRAZILEIRA'. He is from western Japan in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture in Japan. He graduated in civil engineering at Ritsumeikan.
He was one of the original founding members of Fantastic Plastic Machine in 1994 at a college. After dealing with many artists like Pizzicato Five, Towa Tei (ex Deee Lite), Combustible Edison, etc., he released the debut album of Fantastic Plastic Machine in 1997 which was his last release while still in the group.
When not working on his solo music, he is composing for other artists (Towa Tei, Señor Coconut, Isabelle Antena, Montag, Digiki, Little Nobody, Tatsuo Sunaga, Isabelle Antena, Mika Nakashima, Bonnie Pink, Kirinji, etc) as well as doing advertisements, movie soundtracks (Hiroyuki Nakano, Kishin Shinoyama, etc), and performing as a producer. Recently, he has collaborated with Towa Tei.
In 2000, he started up his own music label, MEGADOLLY which released his solo works. His solo works have a distinctive bossa nova sound which is mixed with electronic music and features the singing of robots in broken Portuguese. He is a very dynamic solo artist and his work spans many different sounds and genres. He also has worked sporadically with Ryoondo Tea.
